Pegram, TN – Cheatham County Animal Awareness is looking for outdoor cats in the 37015 zip code and can fix those cats for a discounted fee. Each cat will also receive a rabies vaccine at no additional charge. Our intention is to fix all the outdoor cats at each home or barn in Ashland City. We do have carriers and humane traps to loan, with trapping instruction possible for those who need that help. This project has been made possible by a grant from PetSmart Charities® with funding to fix at least 360 cats.

We remind everyone to please call us as soon as that stray cat shows up in your yard. Female cats are now going into their first heat at 3-4 months old and are easily mothers before they are six months old. And they can get pregnant again while nursing that first litter! Outlets are available to safely spay kittens (and puppies) as young as four months old. Our clinic partners are specially trained in pediatric surgery and know that spaying before the first heat prevents many other future health problems.

Please help spread the word – we can’t fix all the animals problems here, but we can fix all the animals! For more information, please call Cheatham County Animal Awareness’ Spay Neuter hotline-829.8984. Volunteers are also needed to learn proper trapping methods, call our hotline number if you’d like to help.

PetSmart Charities, Inc. is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that saves the lives of homeless pets. More than 400,000 dogs and cats find homes each year through our adoption program in all PetSmart® stores and our sponsored adoption events. PetSmart Charities grants more money to directly help pets in need than any other animal welfare group in North America, with a focus on funding spay/neuter services that help communities solve pet overpopulation. PetSmart Charities is a 501(c)(3) organization, separate from PetSmart, Inc.
